At a recent Point Loma Optimist Club meeting, local real estate agent and amateur photographer Chris Mannerino shared a unique set of photos he took around San Diego during the pandemic. With the city nearly empty, he was able to capture famous spots without any people in them—something that’s normally impossible. His photos showed places like beaches, freeways, and parks in a whole new light, offering a rare look at San Diego’s quiet side during a historic time.
