Captain Will Wiley- Commander, Submarine Squadron 11

The Point Loma Optimist Club recently welcomed Captain Will Wiley, Commander of Submarine Squadron 11, as a guest speaker. Captain Wiley offered members an inside look at the vital role his squadron plays in the U.S. Navy’s undersea operations. Based at Naval Base Point Loma, Submarine Squadron 11 oversees fast-attack submarines, a floating dry dock, and the Navy’s Undersea Rescue Command. His talk highlighted the importance of San Diego in national defense and gave attendees a deeper appreciation for the complex missions carried out just offshore.
