Commander of Submarine Squadron ELEVEN

Our guest speaker was Captain Ken Douglas, Commander, Submarine Squadron 11.  As the senior submarine operational commander here in San Diego, he updated us with what’s new in the world of submarines.  Some of us heard him speak at other events, and this was a terrific opportunity to hear from a rising star in our nation’s Submarine Force.  As you may already know, it’s his submarine crews and their families that the Point Loma Optimists honor on the boats’ return from long overseas deployment by flying our 150 flags.
