Become an Optimist
When you become a member of the Point Loma Optimist Club, you will be part of a vibrant community of individuals who share a passion for making a positive impact in their community. Through weekly meetings and activities, you will build camaraderie with other members, work on committees that raise tens of thousands of dollars annually for local causes, and have the opportunity to participate in patriotic initiatives such as the Flag Program. But most importantly, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that your actions are making a real difference in your community and the lives of those around you.
Volunteer
Even if you're not ready to join the Point Loma Optimist Club as a member, there are still plenty of ways to get involved and make a difference. Our club offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, such as serving as a judge for our Oratorical or Essay contests and even helping out with fundraising events like our annual Golden Grand dinner, dance, and silent auction. These opportunities allow you to contribute your time and skills in support of our mission while getting to know the club and its members.
Donate
There are a variety of ways to make a donation:
You can make a difference by making a tax-deductible contribution to your local Optimist Club or to a specific youth program. Your donation can be monetary (through a sponsorship) or in providing prizes such as trophies or T-shirts for athletic activities. Become a Guest Speaker
We are always looking for guest speakers to join our weekly team meetings!
The club meets weekly at 7:00 AM, Tuesday mornings at the Bay Club on Shelter Island. Every meeting includes a guest speaker on topics of interest in the San Diego area (like you). If you would like to speak at an event, please email us!

Optimists throughout the globe volunteer countless hours and contribute approximately $80 million annually.
