Our speaker was Carie Chouinard. Her presentation was about the community emergency response team (CERT) for San Diego and she did a hands-on activity or mini-training.
Carie Chouinard joined CERT San Diego as its program manager in 2008 following the devastating Witch Creek Fires of 2007. Prior to her work in San Diego, she was a Content Development Editor for Ed2go, helping produce the early versions of online courses for colleges. She also served as a Legislative Aide in the Ohio State legislature before moving to California in 2003. In her current role, Carie is working on several disaster preparedness training initiatives locally with a focus on underserved and vulnerable populations, and serving as the Communications Chairperson for the National CERT Association Annual Conference planning team.
